Dr. Salah Alhammadi is a doctoral graduate of the University of Reading
(UK). MBA and undergraduate degree in Economics from the University of Texas
(USA). He is currently working as assistant professor in Economics and Finance
at Arab Open University, teaching different courses.
Previously, he was a lecturer and later senior lecturer in Islamic
Economics and Finance at ALM College Dundee. He became the MSc Program
Coordinator and the Professional Diploma in Islamic Economics and Finance
in partnership with University of Dundee UK, which involved developing
the course outlines, delivery and assessment. Dr. Salah also was an affiliate academic
professor at Durham University Business School, where he taught
different Modules, including Islamic Finance Summer School.
Dr. Salah attended many national and international academic conferences
where he presented different papers on the area of Islamic and conventional
Economics and Finance, including the University of Cambridge, Gulf
Research Conference, presenting Corporate Governance Issues at Islamic Banks.
Dr. Alhammadi is the author and co-editor of a considerable number of works and
academic papers in international journals, including Journal of Sustainable
Finance and Investment, Journal of Islamic Accounting and Business Research,
Journal of Behavioral and Experimental Finance. Has the best paper award
several time, including Durham University conference.
Dr. Alhammadi has been appointed as a Doctoral thesis external examiner
for different PhD candidates at various UK universities. Supervised several PhD and MSc students. He has the knowledge and an
excellent understanding of the Higher Education Quality Framework that includes
quality assurance and quality enhancement. Dr. Salah also participated and
reviewed several program validation, including Quality Assurance Agency
for Higher Education (QAA) and Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA)
assessments.
Dr. Salah chaired different committees such as the Teaching, Learning and
Student Experience Committee (TeLSEC), which is responsible to Academic Council
for the development of the College Teaching and Learning Strategy and advising
on the resources required to implement the strategy as well as on matters
relating to the broader student experience.
Dr. Alhammadi is recognised as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts
(FRSA) and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA). He also
holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education (PgCert HE) and a
Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice (PGCAP) from Durham University.
Dr. Alhammadi is a referee in many leading ABS peer-reviewed journals.
