The AOU – Kuwait is currently seeking PhD faculty members as follows:

| English Language & Literature | Applied linguistics | Assistant Professor at least |
| English Language & Literature | English/American Literature | Assistant Professor at least |
Applicants should fulfil the following requirements:
- The above mentioned qualifications should be obtained from USA, UK, or any English speaking country.
- All degrees and certificates should be verified by the ministry of higher education in Kuwait; they also need equivalency from the same ministry.
- The majors of all degrees (Bachelor, Master, and PhD) should be in the same field.
- Appropriate teaching experience is required in the relevant major.
- Must have published 2 research papers.
- Must be able to work as a full time faculty member.
