The Faculty of Computer Studies (FCS) at Arab Open University (AOU) offers a
Bachelor degree in Information Technology and Computing (ITC). This degree award after examines the student in depth how computer and information technologies are designed and developed.
You will emerge with the skills you need for your future career in computing, data analysis, web design and development. You will have the opportunity to gain the
skills that represent you not only as a worker but also as a competitor in the
Middle East job market.
The ITC courses designed, accredited and frequently checked by the Open University in UK. This type of support is to meet the needs of employers and to keep up with the high-level quality standards.
Our graduates will be awarded two honors BA degrees: one from the Open University in UK and from AOU Kuwait branch.
Our faculty follows the general academic calendar of the AOU, which consists of
three semesters, fall, spring and summer. Fall and spring semesters are normally 16 weeks, whereas the summer one is about 10 weeks.
The Fall Semester usually starts in September and ends in January whereas
the Spring Semester runs from February till end of June . The summer semester
usually runs from July till September. The term and assessment dates are clearly marked in the Academic Calendar. The course calendars for individual courses are based on the Academic Calendar of the AOU.
The sessions and assessments are dated clearly in the Academic Calendar and
announced to the student in an early time.
AOU's course material is adapted from the courses taught in a similar program at United Kingdom Open University (OU) in addition to locally designed courses. Our graduates will be awarded two honors
degrees: one from the Open University in UK and the other from one of our local branches in Kuwait, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Oman, Sudan or Palestine.
