Programme Duration A Bachelor’s degree takes an average of eight regular semesters (excluding summer semester), which equates to four academic years. However, students can reduce this time frame to 3.5 years by enrolling in summer semesters. The maximum number of semesters for a bachelor’s degree is sixteen regular semesters (excluding summer semester) according to the Kuwait branch bylaws. Additionally, students who transferring from other institutions must submit an equivalency request through the SIS, which will be processed accordingly.
Method of Delivery The educational model of the Arab Open University uses a blended approach that combines traditional education with interactive learning with 25% face-to-face sessions and 75% distance learning education (such as virtual classes, office hours and interactive online activities and quizzes). Physical attendance is required for all courses, according to the local regulating framework, and is determined by the credit hour assigned to each course. Tutorials are offered from Saturday through Thursday from 9 am to 9 pm to accommodate working students.
