Career Conuseling
Benefiting from the good practices of other institutions, and invoking the spirit of the QAA Code of practice on "Career Education, Information & Guidance", the Saudi Arabia Branch does hereby confirm its commitment to the establishment of an "Office of Career Counseling & Guidance", intended for the provision of services to its students in assisting them with better preparations for seeking proper opportunities in the job market.
The Branch has recently established a special office, called "Office of Career Counseling and Guidance". A designated officer shall manage the affairs of said office.
In particular, the following duties and responsibilities shall be assigned to this office:
- The Office (OCCG) shall be forward-looking in keeping abreast with changing market employment opportunities.
- Office shall keep a roaster of potential employers form both the public (governmental) and private sectors.
- The Office shall issue a periodical newsletter informing students of changing job market needs and available opportunities for employment.
- The Office will hold counseling and career guidance training sessions, at least once a semester. At such sessions, graduating students will be trained in good skills of interviewing and good practices in writing effective Curriculum Vitae.
- The Office shall act, as well, as link to the market in probing market needs for continuing education needs, and feed gathered information to appropriate office/or unit in charge.
- In discharging its various duties, the Office shall employ up-to-date IT resources in discharging its duties.
- Students, especially those designated as senior graduating students, are encouraged to contact said office, and check the Office Bulletin Board for useful information.
