In the beginning of each academic year, the Kuwait Branch conducts a generic workshop in respect of its teaching staff, both old and new. At the same time, the Kuwait Branch adopts the "on-the-job-training" policy. Staff tutors keep on training Tutors and answering their questions throughout the semester.
The Kuwait Branch organized a generic workshop for all Tutors, both old and new, and employed on full-time and part-time basis. The workshop addressed some issues of major concern to Tutors, based on information gathered from previous surveys conducted at the level of the Branch. These issues included the following:
1. Open Learning
- Concept and Philosophy of Open Learning
- E-learning
- Face-to-face Tutorials and Office Hours
- TMAs
- Student Assessment (Group Marking, Exams, etc)
2. Admission and Registration
- Terms and Conditions of Students' Admission
- Process of Registration
- Academic Supervision and Guidance
- LMS - Learning Management System
- Adult Learning
- Quality Assurance
At the same time, and in the beginning of the current academic year, the Long Live Learning held training sessions for Staff Tutors and Tutors from across the various programs offered by the University on the use of Learning Management System (LMS) in the various teaching, assessment and student monitoring activities.
Sometimes, these sessions are held on an individual basis, according to need.
