I have an enormous sense of pride in my new role as the Director of this unique Institution. To pursue higher education is the dream of everyone. The Arab Open University is the repository of the dreams of thousands who thought that the chance of higher education, for whatever reason, had elapsed for them. The AOU founder HRH Prince Talal Bin Abdelaziz, provided this chance to those who wish to pursue their dreams of having higher education, into a reality. This I consider a noble and sublime cause.
The AOU has a massive and challenging contribution to make in the whole area of higher education. This we can call 'widening participation', which is just one of the reasons that I was delighted to take up this responsibility. The challenge I face is to become a credible and successful advocate for the role and purpose of the AOU.
Our partnership with the OU gives strength, to us and our students. Our aim in providing high quality education has become a reality through our strong partnership with the OU.
